Needle felting--needle a portrait of your favorite mushroom and add your hand to the community felting project.  Cording--has all sorts of practical and fanciful applications. Felt bowl making continued with work on the morning's project or start a new one if you have done a workshop previously.

"Shibori with Mushroom Dyes" is back by popular demand! Gayle Still will teach two Shibori design techniques: one with a needle and thread and the other with folding and clamps to form fascinating patterns which will be revealed when the silk is dipped into a mushroom dye! If you have taken this class previously, thank you for signing up on the Waiting List so as to give priority to first time Shibori dyers."

In this workshop, we will create surface patterns on mushroom dyed silk scarves. We will experiment with achieving darker tones with mordant solutions, lighter tones with acidic solutions, and adding color with pigments. We may use brushes, stencils, and stamps to make our designs. We'll all have fun experimenting together, and students will be able to take home their own designs on silk scarves.

"Introduction to Mushroom Dyes" is structured for those with absolutely no experience in Mushroom dyeing. Tina Wistrom will provide an introduction to the art of Mushroom Dyes, and the use of mordants and additives to dye samples of wool yarn and silk.
Prerequisites: beginners only.

Join Dorothy Beebee to experiment with further exploring the pigment possibilities from local mushrooms, and dye color changes with mordants, exploration of further pH adjustments with additives. We'll also try some lichens for dye, and use mushrooms for color on unusual fibers -- soy silk, mohair, gray wool, bamboo, etc.
Prerequisites: Must have previous experience or class in mushroom dyes.

For experienced, self-motivated and self-directed mushroom dyers who bring their own pre-mordanted fibers to dye and want to experiment independently or in small groups with all of the left over mushroom dyes, plus whatever fungal surprises that may have arrived from the Sunday Forays.. We may also have a pot of lichen dye going, or you can even try dyeing your hair with some left-over, lingering mushroom dyes . Dorothy Beebee will supervise the melee!
Prerequisites: Experienced, imaginative, and boldly creative mushroom dyers!
