Faculty Biographies
Myra Beebee
As the daughter of mushroom dye extraordinaire Dorothy Beebee, Myra can't remember a time when she wasn't surrounded by mushroom dyes. Her Mom put her to work at a young age foraging in the woods, and included her on weekends trips to Mendocino with the late and great Miram Rice where she listened to them discuss new dye experiments late into the night. Myra's own experiments first began as a teenager when she learned to weave baskets while living in Scotland and experimented with dyeing the cane. When she isn't cackling over the dye pot with her Mom, assisting her in a dye workshop, or writing about their experiments at hookedanddyed.com, she enjoys spending time with her family at the ocean or cozy in the house watching baseball.
